ceiling fans, pitchforks, cookies, and giant flowers
The farmers' market near our house opened for the season today, which meant we got the treat of seeing a couple of our friends accosting cars at an intersection in the name of publicity while dressed as 1) a giant flower and 2) a farmer with a huge wooden pitchfork. The band that was there today was playing Long Black Veil when we arrived, which, you may remember, is part of Aaron's signature Sleep Medley, so there was some concern that Dylan would be programmed to pass out on the spot. Never fear, she soldiered through. Aaron and I were not as strong, and quickly got cold and ended up in the coffee shop eating cookies. We sat near the window with a convenient view of the lunatics on the street corner, and Dylan spent the whole time we were there with her nose pressed up against the glass waving to them. And also to the record seven ceiling fans in the coffee shop. I believe she actually squeaked with glee when we walked in the door and she saw them. And really, what more could you want than a few ceiling fans and a cookie?
