I ♥ Matzo Balls

Monday and Tuesday nights we attended Baby's Passover Seders Numbers 1 & 2.

Monday night there was a young pediatrician there who grabbed Dylan the instant we walked in because she was happy she didn't have to make Dylan cry by looking in her ears. It was fun at first to sit and concentrate deeply on my wine with no meddling baby in the mix. But after a few judgmental comments (oh, you're still nursing at seven months; she really shouldn't be waking up at night anymore), I stealthily snuck the baby out of her clutches. The seder part of the seder was abbreviated due to: hunger, baby, the passing of time, so the emphasis was on the eating part.

Tuesday night we drove to Tully to see lots of family. The way there was pretty rough -- Dylan just couldn't get to sleep in her car seat until 20 minutes before we got there and then woke up the second the car stopped, despite my attempts to toss Aaron and Snuffy out quickly and keep driving to let her sleep. It's usually about a two hour drive, although I got 'er done, so to speak, in an hour and a half on the way back because the trip there had been so hard. On the way home she blissfully fell asleep about 30 seconds in and underwent a successful car seat-to-bed transfer carefully executed by Aaron. Two of her three uncles gave her traditional Passover gifts. The onesie impressed her teachers today, who made her a hat to match.

Apparently seders are trendy this year because many people I talked to today had been to one, regardless of religion. Between the past two nights and a very busy weekend it feels like we just got back from a long trip.

Dylan slept relatively well last night (2 quick snack breaks and 12 hours of sleep) and had about her best day ever today.

Why do I think that young pediatrician has no children of her own? love, Cathe

Apparently someone hasn't read her own professional association's recommendations on breastfeeding.

I am learning a lot from your blog. Justin and I are about 13 months behind you, firstborn-wise. :)

Congratulations!!! We are so excited for you guys. We will try to keep Dylan from whomping on your baby until he or she is big enough to whomp back.
