Two Years of Snuffy

Over the weekend a friend gave us some friendship bread, also known as the bread version of the chain letter. It is sort of like with sourdough, where you have a little bread pet that you tend to and use as the base for loaves of bread. Yesterday Aaron asked where I had put it. Unfortunately, I had not put it anywhere. Nor was it at the bottom of the ever rotating pile of stuff that lives on our dining room table. Aaron then mentioned the pile of plastic shreds he had found on the floor the day before. And the loose stool Snuffy had had earlier. Hm. That is to say, in all his two years Snuffy has not changed a whole lot.

He has calmed down since he was a puppy, but only a little bit. He still wants everyone, dog and human, to play with him all the time. He is not great about fetching for us, but if there is another dog around that's interested in the ball Snuffy's retriever side suddenly comes out.

He is less anxious than he used to be, although that's not saying much. He still greets Aaron with a thorough tongue bath every day. He snuggles on the couch with us all the time. He and Dylan are madly in love with each other.

He still runs with his back legs in sync like a bunny.

He's been practicing his poses for America's Next Top Dog Model. He is a first generation American and he feels that this would be living the dream.

Speaking of living the dream, he hit the doggie lottery on Tuesday at the seder, where Aaron's mom presented him with a huge ('UGE!) birthday cake from a dog bakery and some Nathan's dog treats.

Happy Snuffday to all.

Snuffy,

Your "Blue Steel" look is unimpressive and lacking in emotional effectiveness. Maybe you could learn a thing or two from me.

Jazz,

You are just jealous of my leggy good looks. I could whup you on the catwalk any day, provided there are no actual cats to distract me.
